FAQ
WHAT IS A TINCTURE?
A Tincture is a liquid extract of plant material made with alcohol or glycerin, to be taken orally. Alcohol-based tinctures are a much more concentrated form of extraction, as they have the ability to better pull out a wider range of beneficial plant properties. Our medicinal mushrooms are dual-extracted to ensure that we draw out both the beneficial alcohol-soluble and water-soluble compounds, creating a full-spectrum liquid extract that contains all of the healing compounds.
WHY DO PEOPLE TAKE TINCTURES?
Tinctures are a more convenient way to consume healing herbs, as they require a lower by-volume dosage of herbal plants, compared to other herbal preparations like tea infusions. Tinctures are also a much more concentrated form of extraction with a longer shelf life, as the alcohol extracts a wider range of beneficial plant properties that you wouldn't find present in herbal powders or teas. Tinctures are extremely fast-acting in comparison to other herbal preparations, as the healing compounds of the extract enter the bloodstream at a quicker rate - meaning more effective results on your health & wellbeing!
HOW MUCH OF YOUR TINCTURES SHOULD I TAKE?
Astraia Botanicals Tinctures are to be taken in drop dosages, by the dropperful. To take a dropperful or pipette's full, squeeze the dropper top and then remove from the bottle... your pipette should now be around half full, (also known as a dropperful), which equals to 1 mL. Now you can squeeze out the contents of the pipette directly under your tongue, in a glass of water or tea!
HOW MUCH TINCTURE IS IN ONE DROPPERFUL?
A dropperful/pipette's full is equal to 15 - 20 drops, or 1 mL of Tincture.
